[It earns a nod from him; he appreciates the straightforward answer on this.]

I see.

[That is the expected outcome of what Claude's laid out so far, so it isn't getting much of a reaction out of him. Even if all of this is completely untrue, he does loathe the idea that anything could have happened to Lady Edelgard. There's no sense in dwelling on that right now, though.]

What happened to Dimitri?

[...You guys probably didn't kill him too, so this is more curiosity than anything else.]

[Perhaps if the situation were any different, that would get a laugh from him. It does get a smirk, though.]

Me, hmm? I'll be sure to keep that in mind.

[...Okay, despite the menacing tone that's almost a joke?? His sense of humor is just Like This.]

[Achievement unlocked: made Claude laugh at a terrible joke.]

Understandable. [Sorry not sorry, Claude.] So in the end the Alliance comes out on top.

It isn't, no.

[Not at all. There hasn't been enough of a push one way or another for anyone to be close to coming out on top.]

I wonder why that is. Something to look into, I suppose.

[Claude can sell a convincing act, sure. Maybe he even would come up with a plan this crazy. But the pieces aren't fitting into place the way they should, which means there's more at play here.]

[The first remark earns a smirk from Hubert, but that...

Well, that's something that still troubles him. There are differences in their memories that are impossible to overlook. Even if Claude is lying about his - which, again, doesn't seem likely given how unbelievable all of this is in the first place - that doesn't explain what Bernadetta's said to him. Claude's refusal to give a name is irritating, but entirely expected at this point, and Hubert won't even bother pressing on that.]

Did the Professor teach the Golden Deer as you remember it?

[That's his assumption, anyway.]

Correct.

[And that quiet thought is one Hubert's been considering since he first heard Bernadetta mention it, that the Professor hadn't taught them. The Professor is certainly a powerful person, but are they really the catalyst for how differently they remember things going? There's still much to consider there, but it's a thought Hubert isn't really sure how to process for now.]

Speaking of them, have you seen the Professor here?

[While they likely won't have any more answers than anyone else, it would be good to know if they're around.]

It seems we have that much in common, then.

[Nothing against the Professor, but this is already too confusing. Still, it's good to know that he hasn't missed seeing them around.]

[That gets a humorless laugh from him.]

While I would never want to have to deal with her here, the very idea of the Archbishop having to deal with this place is at least entertaining.

[Can you imagine how mad she'd be, Claude. It'd be hilarious.]

[...Well, the pause likely gives him away more than anything else, and he doesn't intend to insult Claude's intelligence by lying and pretending he knows what Claude's talking about.]

Captive? No, the Archbishop was able to escape and fled to Faerghus. You remember us holding her captive?
