This is... absolutely amazing. [And terrifyingly dangerous. All of that information out there for anyone who wants it. For anyone who wants to take advantage of it. He wants to ask about privacy. Security measures. But at the same time that... that would definitely seem way too paranoid straight away. ]

[ he wants to ask if claude will be okay with the fact that they might be here a while, because they have a lot to get through, but then he decides against it. he'll dive right into explaining what toilet paper is, how the toilet works, etcetera.

[It's a good thing they went through the phone first because Claude actually pulls it back out to start taking notes as Gaku explains. There are underground aqueduct systems in his homeland that are far beyond anything Fodlan has but even that doesn't come close to the complexity of this indoor plumbing nonsense. It's fascinating.]

Okay, so... I get that a lot of these are for cleaning? But...
[Determining what is meant for cleaning people and what is meant for things and the idea of different soaps for different purposes (laundry, dishes, people, etc) is mind boggling. This part might be the last straw for Gaku, though, because while Claude was fascinated by the plumbing part of things he just will not let the other man give him a quick run down of an item and be done. There's a "why" for everything, down to wanting to understand the chemical processes used in the creation of any number of these things.
In fact, he seems to be quite aware of the use of acids and alkali and how to trigger saponification in oils with the use of lye. Which leads to him being eager to know the chemical formulas for the various types of soap and how they differ.

[ it's actually interesting to gaku once claude starts really getting into the stuff he's been explaining. some of what he asks is way beyond his knowledge level though, because please sir, he's just an idol... so all the chemical reactions and anything related to that stuff goes over his head, but!
